Last year's participants were well-prepared to compete in both the billfish and gamefish divisions, competing for a share of cash and prizes worth more than $480,000.

  • The Bisbee’s East Cape Off-Shore in August: Bisbee's hosts a trio of yearly fishing tournaments in Baja California Sur, including the East Cape event, which was first introduced in 2000 and is known for its laid-back atmosphere. To participate in the tournament, teams must pay an entry fee of $1,500, and if they want to join in the daily jackpots and challenges, they need to pay additional fees. Prizes are given to the teams who catch the most billfish (black, blue, and striped marlin), tuna, and dorado.

  • The Los Cabos Billfish Tournament in October: The Los Cabos Billfish Tournament, held in October, is considered the unofficial start of the Los Cabos Marlin fishing season and generates excitement throughout the year. It is fondly referred to as the "Little Bisbee's" and is an exciting event as it involves various gamefish, such as Mahi-Mahi, Wahoo, Tuna, and Striped Marlin (which are released back into the ocean), as well as Black and Blue Marlins. Participants have the option to compete in a single category or all of them.

  • The Bisbee’s Black and Blue Marlin Tournament in October: It's hard to convey the true essence of Bisbee's Black & Blue Marlin Tournament without experiencing it firsthand. The tournament spans five days, filled with fishing, festivities, anticipation, and excitement. The marina buzzes with activity, drawing people from all corners of the globe who gather to witness the massive Marlin being weighed in. With nearly 200 boats participating each year, the tournament offers an equal opportunity for anyone to emerge victorious, and the rewards are staggering! In 2006, the Black & Blue saw its largest prize pool ever of $4,165,960, which remains the largest single fish payout in the history of sportfishing.

  • The Western Outdoor News Cabo's Tuna Jackpot in November: The Cabo Tuna Jackpot, is the final major competition in Cabo and has been running for 23 years. The tournament is held during November, which is the prime season for Tuna fishing in Cabo. The weather during this time is also excellent, with temperatures starting to cool off from the summer but still featuring warm waters. When participating in this event, the goal is to locate a substantial school of Tuna and aim for one of the larger catches. With a bit of luck and skill, one can come out on top in the competition.
