Fishing San Jose del Cabo in January:
If you are planning on visiting San Jose del Cabo during the winter, you will be able to choose from a variety of sport fishing options. January is a great month for pelagic fishing, since it is full of fish such as: Striped Marlin, Yellowfin Tuna, Wahoo and Mahi-Mahi. It's an awesome month for Striped Marlin fishing, as well as Costal fishing for Rooster Fish, Jack Crevalle, Spanish Mackerel, African Pompano and more. San Jose Del Cabo fishing is great this time of year because the water is calm, there are no winds, and the weather is mild. The Humpback Whale and Gray Whale are also in their breeding cycle during this month.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in February:
Besides excellent Striped Marlin, Wahoo and Mahi fishing, February introduces some bottom fishing, such as Snapper, Grouper, and Bonito, as with Yellowfin Tuna fishing continues to be accurate. February is a great time to fish in San Jose del Cabo, thanks to a wide variety of fish, and consistent good fishing for Striped Marlin. The coastal fishing is still going well, especially with the Rooster fish. A good month to watch whales is during this month, when legions of Humpbacks and Gray Whales are here.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in March:
We see the bottom fishing in San Jose del Cabo warming up; March is a good time for bottom fish such as Snapper, Grouper, Bonito and Rainbow runners. We still have a lot of Wahoo, Mahi, Yellowfin tuna, etc...likewise Striped Marlin fishing is excellent. Rooster fish are still at the top of the list of coastal fishing in March, due to the warmer weather.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in April:
As April moves into May, the waters in San Jose del Cabo are still stable, offering excellent fishing opportunities. Deep below the surface fishing is excellent, with huge Amberjacks, Snappers and Groupers. There's still a lot of pelagic fishing going on with Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna and Striped Marlin. In April, expect an amaizing coastal fishing as the big Rooster fish season begins and the "big boys" start biting again. Humpback and Gray whales travel North with new born calves, whale watching is still possible until the end of the month.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in May:
A major transition occurs in May: the winds turn from predominantly Northern to predominantly Southern, which signals the start of the Black and Blue Marlin season for Pelagic fishing, and especially the start of the World class size Rooster fishing season here in San Jose del Cabo. You should keep in mind that we're the best specialists around for this amazing and legendary fish.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in June:
Fishing in San Jose del Cabo halfway through the year is excellent due to the high level of diversity in the water during this time. Coastal fishing is filled with Giant Roosters during summer. Fighting a Rooster over 50 pounds is a close call ! Fishing is at its pinnacle right now!
70-90 pounders aren't unusual! We also have Blue and Black Marlin fishing is at high. Among the most popular fish in San Jose del Cabo are Mahi and Yellowfin Tuna, making July a good month to target them.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in August:
Marlin fishing in San Jose del Cabo is excellent in August, and you will find a good number of Black and Blue Marlin, as well as some Striped Marlin in the blue water, so it's a great time to come and witness these fish fighting. As August approached, the Coastal Fishing calmed down, Giant Roosters had spawned and went back to deep water. We recommend targeting Pelagic fishing that month, fishing for Marlin as well as Mahi Mahi, Yellowfin Tuna, and Wahoo in San Jose del Cabo.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in September:
There's a lot of Marlin around at the end of Summer here in San Jose del Cabo. Yellowfin Tuna numbers have also been increasing, and September is a big month for Black as well as Blue Marlin. You can expect tons of options and great fish in September, Wahoo and Mahi remain a popular choice.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in October:
October is "Tournament time", numberless Black and Blue Marlin, as well as big Yellowfin Tuna, are pulled from the Sea of Cortes every years. Fishing San Jose del Cabo in November:
With November rolling around, the fishing in San Jose del Cabo remains consistent. The wind is turning back North again, This is the high season's beginning for Stripe Marlin, Black and Blue are slowing down, but Yellowfin Tuna and Mahi-mahi are really big. This is the perfect time to get down here since the water is calm, with mild winds and swell. There's also good whale watching this month, since Humpbacks and Gray Whales are migrating from the Bering Sea to reproduce in the Sea of Cortes.
Fishing San Jose del Cabo in December:
During the winter, San Jose de Cabo offers great Wahoo, Yellowfin Tuna, and Striped Marlin fishing, which is available all year, but is best from November to April.
